StratOG.net for institutions
In response to many deaneries enquiring about purchasing StratOG.net for their trainees we’ve compiled some information to explain the different options available.
What is StratOG.net
StratOG.net (www.StratOG.net) has been created by the RCOG as an online learning resource to aid trainees undertaking core training and preparing for the MRCOG part 2 or equivalent examination. As an interactive resource, it is far more advanced than the first edition of StratOG. It will hold users attention for longer, make learning more fulfilling and allow trainees to visualise concepts and procedures that need to be understood for successful practice.
StratOG.net is the most advanced RCOG e-learning programme yet.
It includes:
- interactive assessment with instant, detailed feedback
- the facility to save assessment scores
- links to guidelines and reading material
- streamed videos of procedures and scans
- animations to simplify complex principles
- discussion boards to enable relevant debate
- the facility to attach reflective notes to web pages.
StratOG.net, a targeted, relevant O&G learning resource
As the programme is designed to be a continuing learning resource for the trainee, we sell the tutorials outright to the trainee, who is given a unique password and has access to the site for the whole period of training.
Some deaneries have recommended that each trainee purchases StratOG.net from their study budgets. In this way the student can continue to use StratOG.net as a learning resource for the whole of their training and not just for the time that they remain within one deanery. They are able to continue to refer back to notes made, articles cited, procedural videos, explanatory animations, peer discussions and case studies at any time.
Institutional discounts and trainee funding
Deaneries wishing to fund their trainees by purchasing the whole programme (which supports core training) will obtain our institutional discount (a total of 15% including bulk discount).
Alternatively, you may prefer to fund a percentage of the cost by purchasing the specific tutorials that will support trainees when they are in your unit. This option is particularly suited to deaneries whose trainees may only stay with them for a year.
Additional discount for under-resourced countries
The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) is now able to offer StratOG.net to under-resourced countries at a discounted price. Click here for details.
Invoicing and StratOG.net
In general, the StratOG.net purchasing system is designed for individual use and online payment; however, should you decide to purchase StratOG.net in bulk on behalf of your group of trainees, simply provide:
- names and email addresses of the trainees to be given access (trainees must first register on the StratOG.net website to enable them to access the tutorials)
- duration of the trainees’ study with your deanery
- contact name and details of person or department to be invoiced
- optional: you can select which specific tutorials are to be purchased for your trainees (full list of tutorials) and send the list with your order.
You will be invoiced for the full cost of the agreed access and then we will contact each trainee to inform them of their StratOG.net access.
